Cheyenne M. Hitchcock, 45, Tama, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Cheyenne was born to Roberta Kinkennon Hitchcock on August 23, 1968, in Marshalltown. He was previously married to Chris Spear and together they had Cody and Cory. He then married Nicole O'Clair and to that union was born Brooklynn and Madison. Both marriages later ended in divorce. Cheyenne worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in the dietary department and before that was a supervisor at the Iowa Juvenile Home. He was previously a firefighter and EMT for Toledo and a proud supporter of the special Olympics. Cheyenne enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children. Survivors include his children, Cody and Cory Hitchcock of Tama, Brooklynn and Madison Hitchcock of Toledo; his mother, Roberta Hitchcock of Pleasant Hill; his siblings, Frances Hitchcock of Altoona, Amy Dost of Mitchellville, Billy (Ruth) Hitchcock of Traer, Ben (April) Hitchcock of Pleasant Hill and Tiffany (Isaiah) Mills of Pleasant Hill; his nieces and nephews, Justice, Lincoln, Eli, Haley, Wyatt, Jackson, Tyler, Jacob, Jessica and Aiden; two aunts, Deb and Betty; one uncle, Mike; and a special friend, Dixie Kapayou. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita and Roberta Hitchcock; his grandparents, Twyla and Ralph Kinkennon; and a sister-in-law, Kerry O'Clair Jefferson. A memorial fund has been established.
