Dysart woman killed in Tama County crash

The Iowa State Patrol has identified Debra Sells, 56, Dysart, as the victim of a head-on collision involving two pickup trucks on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2 at 2:20 p.m.

The patrol report says Sells was east bound on Iowa Highway 8 three miles east of Traer when a westbound pickup truck pulling a livestock trailer crossed the center line for unknown reasons and collided with Sells vehicle.

Craig Stevens, 56, was identified as the other driver. His passenger, Nancy Stevens, 46, and he were taken to Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

Tama County radio traffic said the one pickup was on fire. Dysart and Traer fire departments and ambulances were called to the scene.

Investigation by the State Patrol continues.
