Michael Dean Dolash, 62, of Tama passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 1 - 2:30 PM prior to the service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Michael was born on July 4, 1952, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Leo George and Greta Louise (Ellis) Dolash.
He graduated from South Tama County High School in 1970 and received his Associates Degree from Marshalltown Community College.

On September 1, 1973, he was united to Kathy Culbertson at the Grundy Center United Methodist Church. From 1978-2011, Mike was employed at John Deere in Waterloo as an engineer and also farmed with his brother. He was a member of the Iowa Bowhunters Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially bowhunting and archery leagues and competitions. Mike also enjoyed watching outdoor television shows and birds from his four seasons room. He was an avid gardner and made the best strawberry-rhubarb pie. He also spent hours thinking of how to keep the rabbits out of his garden. Mike's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Kathy of Tama; one daughter, Jenny (Nick) Franzoni of McKinney, TX; one son, Jason (Hannah) Dolash of Clinton; one grandson, Lucca Franzoni; one granddaughter, Haylee Dolash; two brothers, Ronnie (Judy) Dolash of Toledo and Denny (Barb) Dolash of Tama; two sisters, Barb Mobley of Marshalltown and Becky (Mark) Roelens of Dysart; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother-in-law, Gil Mobley.
A memorial fund has been established.
