Toledo Police Warn of car prowls

July 30, 2014
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Toledo Police Department would like to remind all citizens to keep their cars locked and secured when not in use.

During the early morning hours of July 21 an unknown person or persons rummaged through several cars in the Toledo area and some items of value were taken. Others were rummaged through but nothing taken.

It is the advice of the Toledo Police Department to not leave items such as cash, credit cards, purses or wallets, personal identifications, papers with your name and date of birth and or social security numbers on them, prescription medication-especially prescription pain medication, firearms, cell phones or anything else that is of any value to you in your car without locking the doors.

It is also the advice of the Toledo Police Department to take with you inside your house any valuables and not leave them in your car if you are not parking it in a secure garage at home. Also, be sure to never leave the keys in the ignition of your vehicle when you are not in it.

If anybody has any information on the unknown subjects who had entered the vehicles in Toledo during the early morning hours of July 21, 2014, please call 641-484-3013. You may remain anonymous.
