A busy night was had at this Toledo Farmers Market. The Stoplight Festival and the Chamber BBQ filled the air with plenty of noise and delicious aromas. This week at market was a little crammed. But that didn't stop the vendors from bringing their products for their customers to purchase.

I hope everyone had a good market and lots of fun. If you missed this market there are plenty of markets left to attend.

Mark those calendars for Friday nights from 5-7 pm on the east side of the courthouse square and visit your favorite vendor.

The vegetables are finally starting to produce. This week I purchased some cucumbers from Ginger and they were delicious. I made a salad for my mothers surprise birthday party on Sunday. Happy Birthday Granny biscuit!!! Glad we were able to surprise you.

Cucumber Salad

3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced

2 sweet onions, peeled and sliced

Toss the cucumbers and onions with a little kosher salt. Set aside and let wilt. Mix together ? cup Italian dressing, ? cup white vinegar, ? cup sugar and a dash of coarse black pepper. Mix together until sugar is dissolved. Rinse wilted cucumbers and onions and drain. Once drained mix with dressing and put in the refrigerator over night.

There you have it, the famous cucumber salad the Carlson family members love.
