Area Ag Preservationists - Get Ready: If you possess any ag tractors or equipment from the past that you would like to display- here is your opportunity. Many of us have old equipment that maybe our dads or grandpas used many years ago on their farm. Or it's some tractors or equipment that you have in your collection that you're proud of.
No matter what the condition is, you're invited to display it at the Chelsea Sesquicentennial Celebration, which is to be held July 25 and 26.
Any items are welcome; they don't have to be all shined up with fresh paint to be displayed. Some of the best displays are those that feature, for example, your Grandpa's John Deere "A" that is still in its "farmer clothes." This may mean that many years ago, when he retired from farming, he parked it in the shed and now you're pulling it out to display it. It doesn't have to be all painted up, but it is a family "heirloom."
Or maybe you do have it all painted up and looking like new. Either way, please take this opportunity to display your pieces of Ag History.
We will be setting up the display between 6-9 a.m. on Saturday July 26, at the former site of the Chelsea Public School.
There is also a parade starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, so if you wish to parade your tractor / equipment, you are welcome to take it out of the display and put it in the parade.
