Waterloo man killed near Elberon

Mark Donald Skyles, 59, Waterloo, was reported killed in a three-vehicle accident on Iowa Highway 21 near Elberon according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The accident occurred at 11:38 a.m. on July 7.

Michael Thomas Brawner, 58, Mt. Pleasant, was transported from the scene to St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, for treatment of injures by Elberon Ambulance.

A third driver, Ryan Wayne Rosauer, 39, Junction City, Kan, was not listed as injured.

The patrol report said Sklyes was southbound on Highway 21 and crossed the center line striking a northbound semi driven by Braawner head-on. The impact of the crash propelled Skles vehicle back into the car driven by Rosauer according to the report.

The accident occurred on the Tama-Benton County Line. It remains under investigation.
