Vendors are needed for the Lincoln Highway Buy Way Garage Sale. This is an annual event and is scheduled for Aug. 7-9 this year.
The Lincoln Highway (est. 1915) stretches from coast to coast across the United States and passes right through Tama/Toledo area.
This year the Tama Toledo Lincoln Highway Bridge Park Organization is participating in this event. The Iowa Lincoln Highway Association has been involved in this sale for the past five years with many towns and cities participating. The group is encouraging people to set up garage sales along the Lincoln Highway route which is along Old Highway 30 through Tama and down 5th street, out to the Meskwaki Pow Wow grounds.
The organization is setting up vendors in the Lincoln Hwy. Bridge Park located at 5th Street and Taylor Drive in Tama. There will be food vendors, and antique dealers, crafters and garage sales set up along the route. Spaces are available for this three day event. There is a small set up fee to help cover the cost of advertising and promotional signage.
This would be a great fund raiser for churches, clubs or organizations. The great thing is the sale is the same week-end as the Pow Wow. Hundreds of travelers are anticipated to be visiting the Tama/Toledo area.
There are other activities and entertainment being planned for the weekend. So, bring your friends and families to participate in this local event. Please keep in mind that it takes strong community support to make this a successful weekend. Let's make Tam/Toledo a place to stop on the historical Lincoln Highway!!
