Donald C. Jaeger, 90, passed away suddenly at his home on the evening of Thursday, June 26th.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by Harry C. Harter Veterans of foreign wars Post # 839 and American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post # 46. Memorials may be directed to his family. Born on January 8th, 1924, in Beloit, Wisconsin, he was the son of Hugo William and Elsie Jaeger. He graduated from high school and served our country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps (later Air Force) during WWII from 1942 to 1946.

On Christmas Eve of 1949, he was united in marriage to Katheryn Wooster. She preceded him in death on July 8th, 1978. Donald was a district manager for many years at an Ecolab in Minnesota. Donald was later married to Ramona Andrews on May 25th, 1985 and she too preceded him in death. Don enjoyed boating, airshows, airplanes, hot-air balloons, antique cars, boxing and watching his grandkids play sports and their music.

Mr. Jaeger was a member of the Moose Lodge and past president of the Iowa Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians.

Donald was blessed with two children- Debra Rae (Joe) Kinney and Bill Jaeger both of Marshalltown, his special friend Jeanne Eggers of Marshalltown, step-daughter-in-law Jane Andrews of Marshalltown, five dear grandchildren- Terri (Chris) Taylor of Marshalltown; Shawn (Dan) Graves of Des Moines; Kristopher (Stacy) Netolicky of Marshalltown; Tanya (David) Cobb of Marshalltown and Jessica (Brandon) Ricken of Haverhill, 13 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, his brother Richard (Peggy) Jaeger of Wisconsin Dells, his faithful companion Roscoe and many other family members.

In death, he rejoined his beloved wives Katheryn (Wooster) Jaeger and Ramona (Andrews) Jaeger, his step-sons Gary Andrews and Steve Andrews, step-granddaughter Kelli Andrews, brother Robert Jaeger, sister Nancy (Larry) McKittrick, his parents, step-mother, Hazel Jaeger who raised him and two faithful companions- Peppy and Riley.
