A search by the Tama Fire Department launched shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 29, turned up all three persons who were reported not seen since 9 a.m. at the Tama County Off-Road Vehicle Park along the south edge of Tama. The trio were located and found to be okay just after 4 p.m. All-terrain vehicles and jet skis had been brought in to aid in the search. The Iowa River is swollen in the area which encompasses much of the park due to recent heavy rains.
