Elberon Area Women’s Club 2014 year in review

June 28, 2014
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The last twelve months have been busy for the Elberon Area Woman's club. We have had several fundraisers. In June we have established the tradition of The Band Concert in the Park. This years concert is June 29th 5-9 p.m. We have added a raffle with 8 cash prize drawings, 4 at the band concert June 29th and 4 at our soup supper September 7th. Also this past winter we held a bake sale at the Elberon Fire and Rescue Fish fry held in the Elberon Community Building. The money that is raised at these affairs go to benefit the community. We continue to support the Keystone Nursing Care Center with bi-monthly bars, and the Mother/Daughter Tea in the spring. We participate in the planning , serving and entertainment of the tea. We were able to purchase 2 trash receptacles that match the flower pots previously purchased. A donation to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon in support of the Pediatric Hospital. The Tama Co. and Benton Co. food pantries have received money and can goods from the Elberon Area Woman's Club.

Its not all work and we do play. We enjoy the fellowship during our meetings and projects. Also we have had many outings and speakers. We have visited the Kalona area, Fox Ridge Winery in Traer and representatives of the Wolf Creek Players from Dysart came preformed and informed us. In the future we will be having more speakers, a cookie exchange, dinning out, secret Santa's, theater outings and wine tastings. We always welcome new members and ideas. Come join us for fun, fellowship and community pride.
