Salvador Cruz, 27, who walked away from a Marshalltown Work Release Facility on Feb. 20 has been in jail in Polk County since April 3 the Tama County Sheriff's Office confirmed to The News-Herald.
Cruz was one of two men charged in the death of Joshua Wohlman, age 19, of Garwin, a William Penn University student, at a party west of Toledo on Oct. 15, 2006.
Wohlman was shot and Luis Guzman Perez was convicted of second degree murder and Cruz of two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and two counts of accessory to felony.
According to online Polk County Jail records, Cruz was arrested at 1:32 a.m. on a charge of possession of narcotics with intent to deliver with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
He also is being held on $6,000 bond on an escape or absence from custody charge in connection with the Marshall County work release violation.
In addition, he is being held without bond on an Oakdale Medical and Classification Center work release violation and a Polk County interference with official acts charge.
