Janice Wyatt, 89, of Melbourne, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Melbourne Library and the Melbourne Fire Department. Janice was born Dec. 12, 1924, to Marion and Julia (Pierce) Dickenson in Hardin County, Iowa. She graduated High School in Union, Iowa, and attended Marshalltown Business College. Janice was united in marriage to Fredrick Wyatt in Union on Aug. 27, 1944. Fred passed away Oct. 15, 2011. Janice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Starry Grove Club, Saturday Morning Coffee Club, 50+ Club and the Melbourne Library Ladies. Some of the many things Janice enjoyed were reading and playing cards, but most importantly, spending time with her family.
Janice will be missed by her three children: son, Scott F. Wyatt of Bemidji, Minn.; daughters, Sheryl M. (Dallas) Hotchkiss of Toledo, and Sandy S. Wyatt of Marshalltown; grandson, Tyler J. (Ryan) Strunk of Muskogee, Ola. and two great grand-children, Wyatt and Zane Strunk of Muskogee, Okla. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, one sister, Lois Bradley Stewart and two brothers, Marvin and Rex Dickenson.
