Cheryl Maplethorpe, a Toledo native, who recently retired as Director of Financial Aid for the State of Minnesota, will be displaying some of her art work at the Healthy Lifestyles Center in the Toledo Community Building lower level from Monday-Friday, June 16-20.
Guests are welcome to view the art exhibit during day hours of the Community Building.
Since her retirement, Maplethorpe has been concentrating on her life-long interest in art.
Cheryl Maplethorpe, a Toledo native, is shown with some of her personal art work at a show at the River Falls, Wisc. Public Library. She will be hosting her own show at the Healthy Lifestyles Center in the Toledo Community Building beginning June 16.
Maplethorpe is the daughter of the late Dr. Charles and Dorothy Maplethorpe of Toledo. She is a 1967 graduate of Tama-Toledo High School. She received a B.A. in Science from the University of Iowa and holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education / Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota.
She worked for 31 years as the director of Financial Aid for the Sate of Minnesota at the Office of Higher education.
She and her husband, Phil Dean, have two sons.
