Repairs and improvements topped the Monday night action of the Tama City Council. However, exterior woes to the 14-year-old Louise and Lucile Hink Tama Public Library were put on hold for the time being.
A report to the library board and council from Schoonover Tuckpointing, Vinton, called for up to $24,848 for caulking, tuckpointing and waterproofing portions of the library exterior.
Council members questioned the extent of work necessary on a building built in 2000. Additionally, they want the library board to share some funding of any repairs from their foundation or other reserves.
