Tama County Supervisors Larry Vest, Kendall Jordan and Chairman Dan Anderson met Monday morning with the Tama County Engineer, Lyle Brehm, for a road report.
Brehm said dust control was started last week, and weather permitting will be completed this week. Brehm said rock hauling was dedicated to this project the last few weeks. Hauling rock will now be aimed for other areas.
Chairman Dan Anderson told Brehm the road south of the Stone House (G Avenue) is not in very good shape. The edges of the road are extremely soft and need building up. This is due to the severe weather during the winter months.
Supervisor Kendall Jordan said he had been asked several times who was going to pay for the bridge damage done a few weeks ago. Jordan asked if the person hitting the bridge had insurance. It was noted by the other supervisors if this were personal property that was damaged the person doing the damage would be responsible.
Brehm also told supervisors several lettings for bridge work would be coming up soon.
Brehm reported there is interest expressed by some that may be interested in purchasing the Chambers bridge west of Belle Plaine in Tama County which is scheduled for replacement. A meeting about the bridge had been set for Monday night.
One permit was approved for Poweshiek Water to run new service in Howard Township, Section 24.
