TAMA - On Monday May 5 the JV girls track team and Varsity boys track team competed in the Dream Builder Invitational hosted by Meskwaki Schools. On the girl's side, STC girls varsity coach George Corum thought the jv squad competed well stating, "Coach Van Zante had the team ready to compete. The distance runners really had a good night of track." The STC jv girls took first place with 140 points while GMG was the only team to come close with 122 points. Waterloo Columbus finished third with 51 followed by Meskwaki with 34 and Northeast Hamilton with 26.
Corum indicated that the depth of their team had a huge impact on the meet. GMG had more first place finishes than the Trojans but STC had strong performances and multiple place winners in the other events.
Not only did the Lady Trojans take the top spot, but 14 PRs were also achieved. "Solid performances combined with the team's 14 PRs helped secure the team victory over runner-up GMG," stated Corum.
Sophomore Blake Keller finished first in the 1600 M Run at the Meskwaki Dream Builder Invite on Monday May 5.
