Eduardo Pesina, 39, has been charged with attempted murder and a series of related charges following an early Sunday morning arrest at a convenience store by Tama Police.
He reportedly stabbed a person only identified as an adult female. No condition report on the victim was contained in a press release issued Monday afternoon by Police Sgt. Jason Bina.
Pesina is accused of being in possession of a knife when officers responded to the Jiffy South Store located on U.S. Highway 63 (State street) on the city's southern edge. Police arrested Pesina there at 6:42 a.m.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, he was cited for stalking, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons, 3rd degree harassment and public intoxication.
Pesina was being held in the Tama County Jail in Toledo on $50,000 cash only bond.
Toledo and Meskwaki Nation Tribal police and the Iowa State Patrol assisted Tama Police in the incident.
