Tony: Black socks and sandals

April 24, 2014
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Dear Editor,

I am writing to let you know that one of your columnists (Mr. X) discriminates.

I wear black socks with sandals as I have varicose veins and a few corns. To make matters worse a few years ago I and my wife visited Mr. and Mrs. X. We went to that museum that had the world's largest tractor. Mr. X, in front of my wife and others belittled me for wearing black socks with sandals. No amount of my explaining my pain and embarassment would stop Mr. X. I felt so small that I thought a Farmal H was the worlds Biggest tractor.

Sometimes just my left leg bothers me so I wear a black (on March 17 I wear a green one) sock on just that leg as I am on a fixed income.

I think Mr. X would really berate me if he saw that so I believe Mr. X needs sensitivity training.
