Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center (MMSC) will be holding a groundbreaking for its new outpatient services center on April 23. The ceremonial "shoveling of the dirt" will begin at 3 p.m. on the construction site, near the U.S. 30 Expressway - Iowa Highway 14 at the south side of Marshalltown.
A reception and refreshment will follow from 3:30 - 5 p.m. at Dejardin Hall on the Iowa Valley Community College campus. The public is welcome to attend both events.
the construction site has very limited gravel parking, may be muddy and is not handicap accessible for the groundbreaking event.
This groundbreaking is for the $35 million first phase which will be home to outpatient services including urgent care, surgery, imaging, physical therapy and rehabilitation and a lab. The first phase is expected to be completed by next spring. The rest of the hospital will relocate to the area in future phases.
