Gordon Lasley Jr., 25, was indicted by a federal Grand Jury on Thursday, April 10, for the murder of parents Gordon Lasley Sr., 60, and and his mother, Kim Renee Lasley, 57. Gordon Lasley Jr. had earlier been charged with the murders in Tama County District Court in Toledo.
He is to be arraigned today, Friday, April, 11 at noon before Magistrate Jon S., Scoles in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.
Lasley was taken into custody by Tama County sheriff's deputies just after midnight on Feb. 6 after the bodies of his parents were discovered at their home on the Meskwaki Settlement west of Tama by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police.

Court documents allege the parents were slain with a machete.
On March 7 the FBI charged Lasley with the murders and he was subsequently transferred from Tama County to federal custody where he remains.
The FBI assumed jurisdiction because the alleged crimes occurred in "Indian country" according to court records.
