Miguel Araujo-Rocha, 28, Tama pled guilty to charges of 1st offense drunken driving and child endangerment. He was sentenced to terms of 180 days in jail with credit for 20 days served and the balance suspended. He was fined $1,250 for drunken driving and $625 on the endangerment charge. One-half of the drunken driving fine may be suspended if proof of an ignition interlock device is provided to the court.
Araujo-Rocha was placed on probation to the Department of Correctional Services for two years and directed to complete drinking drivers school.
He was charged on March 7 at 5th and Harmon streets in Tama by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker.
Jamie Kay Capazo, 29, rural Reinbeck, entered a written guilty plea to 2nd offense drunken driving and child endangerment.
She was sentenced to seven days in jail and fined $1,875 for drunken driving and to a suspended, two-year prison term on the child endangerment charge. She was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. A charge of failure to maintain control of vehicle was dismissed.
Capazo was charged on Dec. 20, 2013, in the 1500 block of Tama County Road T47 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joe Quandt.
