Tama Co. Sheriff seeks public's help in carjacking

April 5, 2014
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Tama County Sheriff's Office assisted by Black Hawk Sheriff's Office are investigating a

Carjacking that was reported Thursday night on Highway 63. Exact location is still being determined as victim reports somewhere between Gladbrook, Traer or North into Black Hawk County on Highway 63 at or around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim, a Marshalltown resident, told deputies he was driving on Highway 63 when a

pickup truck in front of him slowed down and stopped. He said when he stopped, two men exited the truck. One of them had a gun and made him leave his vehicle. They then drove off in his car, heading north. A third person drove off in the pickup, he told deputies. The victim states he was given a ride by a passing motorist in a red car and dropped off in Black Hawk County. Second motorist gave the victim a ride to Hudson Casey's where he then called 911. Details from the victim seem sketchy as to exact location. Tama County Sheriff's Office is asking for public help if anyone had seen a Silver

2005 Acura, and a black pickup stopped along Hwy 63 around the 5:30pm time frame. Or the driver of a Red car which stopped and gave the victim a ride when he was walking along the road.

The victim was not injured during the incident. No other information available at this time.

If anyone has information please contact the Tama County Sheriff Office in Toledo, Iowa at 641 484
