Tama County Government Day is set for Wednesday, April 9

Iowa?Supreme Court Justice On Program

The annual American Legion and?Auxiliary Government Day for Tama County high school students will be April 9 in Toledo.

Students visit county government offices during the day.

The event was orignally held nation-wide but Tama County is believed to be the only location where the program is still offered.

Students from South Tama, Meskwaki, GMG, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, North Tama and Union high schools are slated to attend.

Diane Caloud and Norbert Caloud, Clutier, are the Legion and Auxiliary chairs for 2014.

At 1:15 p.m., Iowa Supreme Court Justice Brent Appel will meet with students during Government Day at the Reinig Center, 1007 Prospect Drive, Toledo.

On Thursday, April 10, members of the Iowa Supreme Court will visit six Toledo area high schools to meet with students and discuss the role of the courts.

The justices will visit South Tama High School in Tama, North Tama High School in Traer, Marshalltown High School in Marshalltown, Benton High School in Van Horne, East Marshall High School in Le Grand and West Marshall High School in State Center.
