On Monday, March 24, Susan Jones, assistant to the county engineer, met with Tama County Board of Supervisors Larry Vest and Kendall Jordan. Chairman Dan Anderson was absent.
Jones requested approval on a permit for work to be done for the East Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative.
Work will be done in York, Oneida and Clark townships. This is FEMA mitigation rebuilding.
County Engineer Lyle Brehm told supervisors the contractor for a bridge on 230th Street in Oneida Township, Section 10, indicated they may move in this week, weather permitting.
Brehm also told supervisors consideration was being given on replacing the Chambers Bridge. There will be more about the bridge after Brehm has a chance to review and visit with the contractors.
Supervisors went over a contract with Cost Advisory Services, Inc. This is a three year contract for assisting the County with developing cost allocation plans that conform with federal and state requirements. They will provide information regarding programs with central services that are paid from the County's general funds.
Vest and Jordan approved the contract as they believe the cost of the contract will be more than covered by the savings they expect to see.
Claims approved for payment from the past week totaled $47,920.
