Before Judge Ian K. Thornhill in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

Melvin Ray Wilson, 33, rural Tama, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, fined $100 and ordered to pay victim restitution on March 13. He was convicted by a jury on Nov. 21, 20-13 on a charge of domestic abuse assault. Wilson was granted work release privileges.

He was charged on Aug. 19, 2013, with assaulting his wife while riding in a vehicle in Toledo by Toledo Police Officer Brian Randall.

Ethan Joe Haughey, 39, Toledo, pled guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 48 hours in jail, directed to pay sheriff's jail fees and fined $1,250. It was noted Haughey had completed drinking drivers school.

He was charged on U.S. 63 at 180th Street,Traer, on Dec. 15, 23013, by Tama County deputy sheriff Trevor Killian.

Kiedis Dayton Oldbear, 21, rural Tama, was sentenced to five years in prison on a charge of possession of a firearm or offensive weapon as a felon. The term is to be served concurrently with two sentences in Marshall County District court.

Oldbear was charged Aug.. 20, 2013, with being in possession of a 9mm handgun in the 1500 block of 305th Street by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Matt Wedeking.

Thomas Paul Miller, 48, Marshalltown, pled guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor. He was fined $315 and assessed a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge.

He was originally charged with ongoing criminal conduct for alleged involvement in a criminal network for financial gain involving burglary, theft and the sale of firearms and other stolen property. The charge was filed by Tama county Deputy Sheriff Bruce Rhoads on Dec. 13, 2013.

Karac Lyle Davenport, 24, Toledo, entered a written guilty plea to domestic abuse assault. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $315 civil penalty and directed to undergo anger management counseling.

Davenport was charged on Sept. 22 in the 1000 block of South Prospect Dr. for allegedly pushing his girlfriend causing pain and injury by Toledo Police Officer Dan Quigley.
