Before Judge Ian K. Thornhill in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Patrick Allen Chamberlin, 45, Toledo, pled guilty to assault without intent causing serious injury. He was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $750. Chamberlin was credited for 209 days already served and the fine was suspended.
He was charged on July 23, 2013, for allegedly assaulting another inmate in the Tama County Jail in Toledo by Deputy Sheriff Chad Hansen.
Kacey Jo Hicklin, 39, Toledo, was sentenced on charges of 3rd degree burglary of a motor vehicle 1st offense and 3rd degree theft - enhanced - two prior counts. She was sentenced to two years in prison on each charge to be served concurrently and fined a total of $625. She must also pay $156 restitution to the victim.
Hicklin was charged on June 5, 2013, with entering a motor vehicle and taking $100, a driver's license and social security card all belonging to another. The charges were filed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Brian Shimon.
DouglasEdward Cadotte, 40, rural Tama, pled guilty to charges of eluding law enforcement and driving while license revoked. He was sentenced to concurrent 30-day jail sentences and fined $315 on each count.
Cadotte was charged on Feb. 14 on the U.S. Highway 30 Expressway at 305th Street after allegedly refusing to stop the vehicle he was driving which was being pursued by a police vehicle until he became stuck in snow in the roadway median. The charges were filed by Toledo Police Officer Jeremiah Mussman.
Brad Alan Thomsen, 29, Marshalltown, pled guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to two days in jail, fined $1,250 and instructed to undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow treatment recommendations. One-half of the fine amount may be waived by the court if proof of installation of an ignition interlock device is provided.
Thomsen was charged on Feb. 3 on the U. S, Highway 30 Expressway at mile marker 206 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joe Quandt.
Jose Antonio Uribe-Garcia, 47, Milan, Mo., led guilty to charges of 5th degree theft and public intoxication. he was assessed fines totaling $165. A charge of interference was dismissed
Uribe-Garcia was charged on Jan. 1 for allegedly stealing a keg of beer and bar towels from a safety weigh station at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Brian Northland.
Jesse Lee Chizek, 27, rural Toledo, pled guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but seven days suspended, fined $1,875 and placed on supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services. Chizek was directed to pay the probation supervisory fee and to complete Drinking driver's School and a substance abuse evaluation.
A charge of driving while license was suspended was dismissed.
Chizek was charged on Dec. 22, 2013, at 250th Street at U.S. Highway 63 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Casey Schmidt.
