Cruz sought as escapee; involved in 2006 Tama County murder

Salvador Cruz, 26, is being sought after failing to return to Marshalltown Work Release Facilityon Thursday, Feb. 20, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections.

According to a news release: Cruz was placed on escape status after failing to return to the facility from employment. Salvador was revoked from parole to work release on Nov. 22, 2013. This sentence began on Oct. 18, 2010. Information as to Salvador's whereabouts should be reported to the Marshalltown Police Department or Marshall County Sheriff's Department.

PHYSICAL IDENTIFIERS: Tattoos: Upper Left Arm, Upper Right Arm, Back, Chest, Right Ear, Left Hand, Right Side, Left Wrist.

Cruz was one of two young men charged in the death of Joshua Wohlman, age 19, ogf Garwin, a William Penn University student,at a party west of Toledo on Oct. 15, 2006. Wohlman was shot and Luis Guzman Perez was convicted of second degree murder and Cruz of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (2 counts), Accessory to Felony (2 counts).
