Pam’s School of Dance students attend special workshop at the Wieting

Pam's School of Dance teachers said they were very proud of all the participants who were attentive and worked diligently to learn new moves during a recent workshop held ta the Wieting Theatre in Toledo featuring Zachary Taek Benson known as Bboy NesQuik. A total of 40 students and their teachers attended. NesQuik was bom in Busan, South Korea, and then raised in Iowa. NesQuik has been dancing since 2001.

At the age of 19, he started his first break dancing crew in Pella, now known as Rabid Pandas Crew.

Six years later, he has traveled, performed, battled, and taught around the U.S. and the world.

In 2009, he was selected from I of 3 finalists to participate in a special exhibition battle held in South Korea.

Zach is an award winning dancer that has performed and taught all over the world. He was a four-round finalist on FOX TV's popular show So You Think You Can Dance.

Most recently, he worked with Quest Crew on LMFAO's new music video poppin' bottles. His innovative break dancing and hip hop choreography is so explosive and so much fun! He continues to teach, battle, and perform all over the world.

Pam Wood feels as a dance instructor it is in the best interest of all her students to stay as current as possible with new dance trends, and also stay true to the basics of this wonderful art form. "Dance comes from a feeling to express ourselves from within not by sound alone," she said.

Pam's studio has been located in Toledo for 42 years. Many of her students have danced in college and on professional dance teams. She is assisted by Gail Ridout, and assistants, Elysiana Gonzalez and Ali Vavra.
