In honor of senior night Coach Nate Doran started his senior players which included Tyler Martens, Darien Taylor and Drake Cherveny. Sophomore Darius Lasley, and junior Ian Slagle rounded out the Trojan lineup. Also honored before tip off were senior cheerleaders Emily Jantzen and Nicole Johnson.
Taylor started it off for the Trojans with a shot at the top of the key and shortly after senior Cherveny added two more points underneath the basket. Lasley and Koch also added to the Trojans score and STC lead the game 14-9 in the first quarter.
Conner Ubben, leading scorer for the Comets, was held scoreless in the first but made up for it in the second by scoring 11 of the Comets 15 second quarter points. With South Tama scoring just eight points the Trojans went into halftime down by four, 22-26.

The Trojans struggled to set a rhythm in the second half as both teams were plagued with foul calls. The Comet defense held the Trojans to eight points while they increased their lead scoring 14 points.
Lasley came out swinging in the fourth quarter scoring 16 points but the Trojans were never able to bridge the gap and the Comets won by 10, with a final score of 57-47.
A silver lining in Tuesday's game, similar to Monday's narrow loss to South Hardin, was the visible improvement over the previous meeting on February 7. In both instances the Trojans responded to a big loss with hard fought, dynamic games that would be decided in the final minutes by 10 points or leass. As this is a young team with lots of potential Trojan fans should look forward to what is ahead in the coming seasons. Go Trojans!
