Over 80 years combined restaurant experience highlights the new Toledo Cafe Family Restaurant set to open soon at 202 Business Highway 30 West in Toledo.
Dimtros Skartsilas has relocated to Toledo from Elkhart, Ind., and has taken a 10-year lease with option to buy on the former Mano's restaurant building. He brings with him "Chef George" (not to be confused with property owner and former operator George Kaltsas) who has practiced the art of cooking for 42 years.
He has also hired Judy Chizek, rural Toledo, as the restaurant's manager. Judy is well-known in the area and had worked part-time for Granny's owner George Kaltsas when it was in this location.
Dimtros Skartsilas pauses last Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the main dining room of the Toledo Cafe Family Restaurant which he is readying to open about March 1. He currently is in the process of hiring staff to serve the extensive menu based upon more than 80 years in the restaurant business combined with his chef George and himself.
Skartsilas plans a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. There will be daily specials for all three meal times and breakfast will be served all day.
The extensive menu will feature everything from steaks and seafood to special Greek dishes, "Chicago-style" entrees and more. Beer and wine will be available with meals.
The Toledo cafe seats 160 diners. The former lounge area will be devoted to private parties and club meetings and will also serve as additional seating for the main dining room if not in use.
