As the old saying goes offense sells tickets and defense wins ball games which was evident in the epic battle of Trojans vs. Trojans at the West Marshall gym on Tuesday evening. STC picked up their sixth win making their record 6-2 within the North Iowa Cedar League Conference.

Starting for the STC Trojans were Kallie Hala, Madie Bacon, Regina Balderas, Dani Stubbs and Trisha Walz.

The name of the game in the first half was defense causing the West Marshall Trojans to commit multiple turnovers while holding their offense to just 6 points in the first half.

Tierney Keahna came in off the bench in the first quarter ready to play and shot 60% from the field goal range and ended the game with 13 points making her the leading scorer.

Both sets of Trojans went into their locker rooms at half time with STC leading the charge 19-6.

West Marshall kick-started their offense in the 3rd quarter scoring 8 points, 2 more than their first half total, but were unable to overcome STC's stingy defense. STC played with fervor and intensity that kept West Marshall off balance the entire game. Dani Stubbs showed her defensive edge by diving on the floor to recover a loose ball in the 4th quarter.

Walz ended the game with an impressive 11 rebounds and two points. Bacon and Balderas both contributed with a strong 9 points each.

Due to STC's hard work every girl saw playing time towards the end of the 4th quarter. The game ended by STC dominating West Marshall with a final score of 42-21.
