Daryl Lee White, 52, of Tama, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in rural Tama County. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Jan. 24, at 10:30 a.m.at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Thomas Dowling officiating. Interment will follow at Haven Cemetery in rural Tama. Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Daryl Lee White was born on April 18, 1961, in Grinnell, the son of Lyle and Barbara (Ingebritson) White.
He graduated from South Tama High School in 1979.

On June 2, 1979, he was married to Chris Zhorne and to this union they had three children, Monica, Sonja and Shane. They were later divorced. Daryl lived south of Tama his whole life and was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. Daryl enjoyed hunting and was a very generous person, always helping his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Monica (Josh) Purk of Toledo and Shane White of Tama; his parents, Lyle and Barbara White of Tama; two grandchildren, Marissa and Natalie Purk; his siblings, Linda (Charlie Troy) Bisher of Dubuque, Keith (Debbie) White of Scottsdale, AZ, Brian (Vilay) White of Tama and Diane (Chris) Bearden of Tama; fourteen nieces and nephews; and ten great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonja Jo White; his grandparents, Marion Ingebritson and Alvina Ingebritson Hamre, and David and Nelle White.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in his name to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama.
