Coffee and Cards Are Iowa Valley Offerings

Broaden Your Horizons

January 11, 2014
By Anne Michael , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Mark your calendars for a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.

On Saturday, Jan. 18 , Sandy McAntire is ready to get her class "juiced" with her espresso machine.

You will play with all sorts of flavors and make all sorts of concoctions! And for those of you worried about out-of-control nerves, she also will have decaf. When you finish this class, Starbucks will have nothing on you!

The class starts at 9 a.m. and is being held at the Shoestring Garden, 205 West Business Highway 30 by the Super 8 Motel in Toledo.

Bring $10 payable to Sandy at the time of the class to cover the ingredients used during the class as well as the artisan coffees you will take home with you.

Also, mark your calendars for, Feb. 18 and 19, Tuesday and Wednesday. If you like playing Pepper or you simply like to play cards in general, you can learn the greatest card game of them all - bridge.

Join a group of beginners and learn the basics of bridge - a game that will keep your brain active and a game that is so much fun it becomes addictive.

The sessions will be held at the Tama Library beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $9 - a very small cost for the large amount of entertainment that bridge will provide for you in the years to come.

Remember - everyone in this group is a beginner, so you need not fear being alone.

Register by calling 800-284-4823 or online www.lowaValley.com.
