January 6, 2014
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Tama County Sheriffs Office is looking for the rightful owner of various black powder guns, an octagon barreled 22 caliber rifle, and a vintage lever action rifle. These guns have been seized in an investigation and likely were stolen in burglaries in the Tama, Marshall or Hardin County area. The two suspects have been arrested for other burglaries done in that area. We will withhold photos of the firearms so the rightful owner can properly identify them. The suspect M / 0 was to seek out abandoned houses/property that still have valuables stored in them, an example would a residence of someonerecently deceased.

The Sheriff's Officeknows that citizens from the Tama and Marshalltown area were approached to buy some of these guns. The office would like to speak any of those persons. Those persons have done nothing illegal and are valued as potential witnesses.

Anyone with information contact Detective Rhoads at the Tama County Sheriffs Office 641 484-3760.
