Guilty pleas to IJH staff assaults

Before Judge Mary E. Chicchelly in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

A 17-year-old female in the custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services at the Iowa Juvenile Home / State Training School for Girls in Toledo has received deferred sentences on a series of charges of assault causing injury on persons engaged in certain occupations.

On July 18 she was charged with two counts of assault causing injury in a County Attorney's information to which she pled guilty on Dec. 20.

Toledo Police filed three charges of assault causing injury on persons engaged in certain occupations on Oct. 15. In this case, she was accused of assaulting and injuring IJH employees who were attempting to restrain her. Guilty pleas were also entered on two of the charges.

And, on Oct. 24 she was charged with assault on persons involved in certain occupations in a County Attorney's information. She also pled guilty to two counts.

Judgments were deferred in all of the cases and fines of $625 were suspended on all of the charges. She was placed on probation for two years to the Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay a $300 supervisory enrollment fee.

The name of the accused has not been included although it is available in the court record
