Four face meth lab charges

Three of four persons arrested near the Tama - Black Hawk county line in Tama County remain in jail in Toledo on a series of methamphetamine-related charges.

Sheryl Ann Wellner, 33, Amber Nicole Stirm, 31, David Armstead Jr., 46, and Christopher Lee McCombs, 33, all of Waterloo, each face charges of conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of methamphetamine, possession precursor - lithium, possession of ethyl ether and a drug tax stamp violation.

They were charged at an address listed as 1106 U.S. Highway 63 in court records which is about one mile north of Buckingham and four miles north of Traer.

Wellner was released under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services.

Stirm, McCombs and Armstead are held on bonds ranging from $30,000-$40,000.

The charges were filed by Tama County deputy sheriffs Joe Quandt and Brian Randall.
