Emma Helen Vileta Homolar of Tama and formerly of Elberon died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama from complications of age. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with Greg Walton presiding. Casket bearers will be Mike Hansen, Brett Maurer, Justin Pooley, Charles Walton, Bob Hoppes, Mohcine Beddad and Greg Walton. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Vining. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday.
Emma, born October 31, 1915 near Elberon. She married Wilfred Homolar Aug. 24, 1936. hey lived on the Homolar family farm northwest of Elberon for 32 years then moved to their farm north of Vining and lived there for 37 years. After Wilfred died in May of 2005, Emma lived at the Willow Apartments in Toledo. She lived at Sunny Hill since June, 2011.
Emma enjoyed working outside on the farm as well as sewing, cooking, crocheting, fishing, and playing Bingo. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren have many fun memories.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, all sisters, brother and in-laws, two sons in-law, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Don deceased) Walton of Farmington, Janice (Dick) Pooley of Cedar Rapids, and Kathy (Clarence deceased) Gingerich of Walford; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
