Lenore Luethje, 98, of Gladbrook, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at the Carrington Place in Toledo.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Peace United Church of Christ with Pastor Robert Doner officiating. She was laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery north of Gladbrook. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Peace Church. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown is caring for Lenore and her family.
Born Lenore Schroeder on April 17, 1915, near Gladbrook, she was the only child born to Albert and Alma (Ladehoff) Schroeder. She graduated from the Gladbrook High School's Class of 1934.
On Jan. 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond Luethje and they lived in Gladbrook until moving to a farm north of Conrad in 1946 and then retired to the Gladbrook, Toledo and Tama areas. She later became part of the family of Carrington Place in Toledo.
SheLuethje was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook and the Afternoon Guild of the church.
In death, she rejoined her beloved Raymond and her parents.
