Ginger Jefferson pleads innocent, murder trial is set for February

Ginger Lea Jefferson pled not guilty to 1st degree murder in a written arraignment filed Thursday, Nov. 14, in Tama County District Court in Toledo.

Judge Ian K. Thornhill set a pre-trial conference for Jan. 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. and a trial for Feb. 3 at 9 a.m.

Jefferson, 57, Toledo, is accused in the death of her daughter-in-law, Kerry Lea O'Clair-Jefferson, 32.

O'Clair-Jefferson's body was discovered by Tama Police while performing a welfare check at a Tama residence on Sept. 27.

Ginger Jefferson continues to be held on $ 1 million bond in the Tama County Jail.
