Before Judge Sean McPartland in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Matthew Adam Wood, 40, Traer, entered written guilty pleas to charges of domestic abuse assault and child endangerment. He received deferred judgments and was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.
He was assessed civil penalties of $315 for assault and $625 for child endangerment and to pay and Law enforcement initiative surcharges. He also was directed to complete a Batters Education program.
Wood was charged with domestic assault on July 25 after allegedly striking his live-in girlfriend causing a jaw injury and pulling her hair. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker. The charge of child endangerment was added in a trial information filed by the Tama County Attorney's Office.
Patrick A. Chamberlin, 45, Toledo, entered written guilty pleas to charges of 1st and 2nd degree harassment. He was fined a total of $940 on the two charges and sentenced to concurrent 60 day jail sentences with credit for 60 days already served.
Court records show Chamberlin was charged on Aug. 20 for confronting his ex-girlfriend at the Lincoln Bridge Inn Hotel in Tama when a no contact order was in place and threatening to kill a relative. The charges were filed by Tama Police Officer Jason Bina.
Dusty Shane Seiberling, 44, Rockwell City, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of 3rd degree theft. He received a two-year suspended sentence and a $625 fine was also suspended. He was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of correctional Services.
Seiberling was also directed to pay restitution totaling $1,399 to Janet Lea Houghton, rural Tama.
He was charged for entering property at rural Tama and allegedly taking a push lawn mower, tiller, wrought iron patio furniture and a kids play set. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Michael Wright.
