Funeral services for Gertrude D. Musel, 82, of Chelsea, were Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, with Deacon Joe Behounek
officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery, Vining. Mrs. Musel died Saurday, Oct. 12, 2013, following a sudden illness.
Pallbearers were Mark Hoseky, Paul Kupka, Jim Johnson, Kevin Foley, Ryan Foley, Walt Musel and Tony Musel.
Gertrude D. Musel
Gertrude D. Musel was born Feb. 6, 1931, at Chelsea, the daughter of John
and Mary Ledvina Kaufman. She graduated from Chelsea High School with the class of 1949. She married Charlie Musel Nov. 28. 1953, at Rockford, Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2011.
She was a member of the Eagles Club, Tama, and the Legion Auxiliary. She worked in a restaurant before she married Charlie. She was a farm wife who enjoyed gardening, flowers and her dogs. She made wonderful rohlicks during the holidays. She will be missed by neighbors, friends and family.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorraine Musel, Chelsea; niece,
Geraldine (Kevin) Foley, Des Moines; nephews, Harry Kaufman, Kansas, Larry Kaufman and Gary Kaufman, both of Toddville, and LeRoy Kaufman, New Mexico; nieces, Charlene Hansen and Linda Triggiani, Cedar Rapids, and Karen (Don) Wahler, Asbury, Ohio; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;
brothers, Leo, Milvoy, Milo and Eddie Kaufman; brother-in-law George Musel;
and special nephew, Richard Kaufman.
Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, was in charge of arrangements.
