Chelsea Library hosts 22 at Summer Reading Program

October 8, 2013
From Dianna Dunning - Chelsea Librarian , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Chelsea Public Library had their summer reading program and this year's theme was Dig into Reading.

The library had 22 kids attend our summer reading program this year.

Over the summer the children made sculptures out of air dry clay and painted them. We made flower pots and decorated them.

Kristen Simon from the Tama County Solid Waste Agency came and read a book to the children, brought worms for the children to "play" with, and taught the children about the importance of recycling. We also had the Grout Museum come to the library with their creepy crawlies exhibit. They brought all kind of creatures for the children to learn about.

All the children who turned in a reading log received prizes.

The library would like to thank the Blank Park Zoo for donating zoo passes and the Tama County Solid Waste Agency for visiting the library and donating a book.
