Christopher James Wheeler

Christopher James Wheeler, 27, of Tama, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 in an accident while working on a road construction crew in Warren County. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Christopher was born on February 17, 1986, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Jeffrey and Tracy (Buckley) Wheeler. He graduated from South Tama County High School in 2004. Christopher was employed by Iowa Erosion Control in Victor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nephews. Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey (Janice) Wheeler of Toledo and Tracy Lopez of Tama; four brothers, Josh (Danielle) Wheeler of Tama, Nick Wheeler of Tama, Hilario Martinez Jr. of Belle Plaine, and Diego Martinez of Tama; one sister, Crystle Martinez of Tama; two step-brothers; one step-sister; his grandparents, Nancy Buckley of Marshalltown and James (Robin) Buckley of Tama; and three nephews, Zachary, J.J., and Matthew. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Mary Lou and Carl Wheeler. A memorial fund has been established.
