Goodhart, Boll seek council posts; filing deadline today- Thursday, Sept. 19

Current 2nd Ward Toledo City Council member Terry Goodhart has filed nomination papers for the 3rd Ward post. Goodhart's residence location was switched from 2nd to 3rd Ward due to reapportionment following the 2010 Census.

The current 3rdWard Council member is Elmer "Skip" Wilson.

Joe Boll has filed nomination papers for Goodhart's 2nd Ward seat to fill a two-year term.

The deadline to file nomination papers for city offices is Thursday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. which puts candidates' names to appear on the Nov. 5 city election ballots.

So far in Toledo, in addition to Goodhart incumbent Mayor Dave Svoboda is seeking a second, two-year term; Carol Peterie is challenging incumbent Brian Sokol for an at-large council seat; and Larry Simpson is seeking the 1st Ward Council post held by Travis Mullen.

Tama

Mike Carnahan is seeking election to an at-large council seat he was appointed to in 2012 and Doug Ray has filed for an at-large post. John Anderson has announced a write-in bid for an at-large seat.

Two at-large council positions are up for election in Tama this year.

Nomination papers are available from the offices of Toledo City Clerk Julie Wilkerson, lower level, Toledo Community Building, 103 S. Church St. and Tama City Clerk Judy Welch in the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel.
