Tama County Convention & Visitors Bureau meets

Tama County Convention & Visitors Bureau met Monday, Aug.12, at the Shoe String Garden, Toledo.

Members present were: Ellen Young, Traer Salt & Pepper Shaker Gallery; Jamie Busch-Upah, John Ernest Vineyard & Winery; Mary Ann Gregory, Dysart Blue Hat Team; Joanne Husak, TCEDC; Cathy Wieck, Dysart's Blue Hat Team and Sandy McAntire, Shoe String Garden.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved. Financials were approved.

County Wide Calendar Sales: Members were asked to bring payment to the September meeting for all calendars sold. We have a grant to do the calendars again next year.

Travel Guide: 2013 Travel Guide's new theme will be"Tama County has it all." Mission of the guide is to promote our county to the best of our ability. A motion was made by Cathy to list all businesses with name/location in the new guide with no additional information. 2nd by Sandy.

Motion was made by Ellen to pay Sandy McAntire a percentage of her total fees for her initial design work on the guide. 2nd by Cathy.

Members will look over list of all Tama county businesses (new and old) to double-check their existence. Send your updates to Joanne Husak and Sandy McAntire.

The next meeting will be September 9, 9:00 a.m. at BrickLynn Cafe, Dysart.
