The Iowa State Fair kicked off on Thursday, Aug. 8, and with it many FFA shows.
The South Tama FFA had members showing in the market swine show, horse show, ag mechanics and technology show and the photography show. With great effort from the individuals, many placed top in their classes. Andrew Kajer showed two market barrows and received blue ribbons. Sierra Kaufman showed her western pleasure horse and received red ribbons. Sierra also showed in the photography show and placed 3rd in her class. The photography show had another STC FFA member participate, Katie Chyma. Katie received a red ribbon.
Calvin Richardson participated in the Ag Mechanics and Technology show where he restored an IH combine. Calvin's combine was named Champion restored equipment.

Calvin also won a $1,000 grant from the IH collectors club that is given to an FFA member from each of the six FFA districts in Iowa that shows IH equipment at the Iowa State Fair.
