Tama County Board of Supervisors members Kendall Jordan, Larry Vest and Dan Anderson met on Monday morning, Aug. 19, with County Engineer Lyle Brehm.
Brehm reported road work is continuing to be done with work on Highway D65 in northern Tama County and coming along well. Also, the asphalt around the Union Grove lake is being done.
Brehm told Supervisor Vest the tiling on D65 will be done when the asphalt topping is complete. Brehm said the first layer of asphalt on T47 has been done.
Supervisors asked what the decision with FEMA on bridge replacement was. Brehm says the project by Dysart would soon be visited by a specialist to determine the work to be done.
Brehm said the amount that FEMA would furnish would be to cover the bridge in it's same size. The bridge would be replaced with a wider deck when done.
Two utility permits were approved, one for Poweshiek Water to extend service at 2879 320th St. and one for Windstream to lay fiber work on 320th Street from X Avenue to Highway 21.
The agenda called for action on a claim from Lutheran Services ordered by the Meskwaki Court to be paid by Tama County.
Supervisor Larry Vest made the motion and all three supervisors voted nay. The motion failed.
Susan Jones told supervisors ISAAC representatives would be here Thursday, Sept. 5, to visit with department heads of Tama County. Jones will notify all department heads.
Claims approved for payment totaled $1,814,670.
