By Iowa DNR , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

There will be a Hunter Education class offered on Aug. 8 and Aug. 10. The class will be held at Pioneer Hi Bred International in Toledo.

You need to be 12 years of age to be certified by the state of Iowa. All students will need to pre-register at the Pioneer Plant Office between 8 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The student will pick up a manual at registration that must be completed prior to the first night of class. When the student registers for the class he/she will need to have their Full Name, Birth Date, Address, Phone Number and Social Security Number. All students will be required to attend both class sessions and take a written exam in order to pass the class.

The class will be held on Thursday Aug. 8 starting at 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., and Saturday Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. On Saturday afternoon the students will have live firing at the Ike's Shooting Range west of town. The students will also need to bring a lunch and drink on Saturday. We will have a working lunch hour. Parents will need to pick up their students at the Ike's Shooting Range northwest of Toledo at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

If you have questions contact Craig W. Fish at 484-2141 Extension 213. This is a free class and will be limited to the first 30 students to register. We do not take phone registrations.
