Tama County Supervisors approve committee appointments

Monday morning, July 29, the Tama County Board of Supervisors, Kendall Jordan, Larry Vest, and Dan Anderson approved the appointment of Pat Johnson, Montour, and reappointed Cathy Gethmann, Gladbrook, to the Civil Service Committee.

Grundy County REC 's request for permission to install a overhead line to a grain bin site at 2048 PP Avenue in Perry Township was granted.

Grundy County REC will also install an overhead line for electric service at 2769 250th Street in Carroll Township, Section 13.

Alliant Energy was granted a permit for work in Highland Township to install an electric primary conductor from the pole to a new grain bin site on the Dillman farm, 3862 B Avenue.

Windstream Communications will replace a damaged cable near the intersection of Highway 30 and N Avenue. New cable will be placed in the edge of the roadbed, boring under existing culvert, in Otter Creek Township, Section 30.

In other business the County Recorder's quarterly report was read and approved, showing total fees collected for the period ending June 28, 2013 as $28,525.79.

Several county employees were present to discuss the Employee Handbook changes. Changes will be made.

Claims approved for payment from the past week totaled $434,484.
